Karen, cast stone Karen -- This is a wall relief of my daughter, Karen. As with most all sculptured busts this was first modeled in clay and then a mold was made of it. It was cast in a special concrete (cast stone) made with Monterey White Sand. It is life-size and made to hang on the wall. This one is not for sale. |

Maidu Family -- over-life size sculpture in Roseville, California The Maidu Family - This outdoor public sculpture stands outside of the entrance to the Maidu Community Center in Roseville, California. It portrays a Maidu family, Native Americans indigenous to the area. It stands 13 feet tall overall with the father figure facing West, symbolic of darkness and danger. He is protecting the mother and child who face the East symbolic of light and peacefulness. This sculpture was done in partnership with sculptor, Tommie Moller. We both worked on the design and complete fabrication of this concrete sculpture. Tommie sculptured the mother and child and I sculptured the father figure. It was dedicated and blessed by the eldest living Maidu elder in November 1993. |

Doc Louis, cast stone Doc Louis -- A portrait bust of friend and trusted doctor of many in the town of Loomis, California, this piece was commissioned and completed in cast stone several years before Doc passed away. |
These portraits of musicians honor the intense hard work and passion that go into the creation of great music. The drawings and sculptures shown here, as well as the remaining works in the series, are shown together for symphony fund-raising benefits. Frederick Delius - carved alabaster Frederick Delius -- A one-of-a-kind sculpture carved in alabaster stone, this is a rare piece. As I carved the portrait, the color and striations in the stone appeared to enhance the essential expression of the portrait bust of Frederick Delius as an old man. This piece is also a part of the series of musicians called "The Work of Creation". |
